Network Support (Cisco Academy)

Atlantic Technical Center


The purpose of the Network Support Services program is to prepare students for employment in network administration as network support specialists or to provide supplemental training for persons previously or currently employed in any of these occupations.

This Network Support Services training program prepares individuals to create, monitor, and maintain computer networks and operate computers and peripheral equipment. Our curriculum is approved by the Cisco Networking Academy.

Laboratory activities are an integral part of the Network Support Services training program and with computers/network management, maintenance, and configuration including:

  • Cabling
  • Network interface cards
  • Routers, switches, hubs

Network Support Services students complete the Cisco Networking Academy Curriculum in preparation for the CCENT exam and the A+ competencies in preparation for CompTIA's A+ exam.

After successfully completing this Network Support Services program, the student will be able to perform network support activities. The students will also have developed skills in:

  • Computer Literacy
  • Business Fundamentals
  • Microsoft Office
  • Installation and Configuration Activities
  • Hardware and Software Troubleshooting
  • Network Configuration
  • Computer User Support
  • Employability Skills and Portfolios
  • A+ Certification Training
  • CCNA Training

Completion Time:
The length of this program is 1050 hours (approximately 10 months).

Industry Certification & State Credential Exams:
Completing students will be eligible to take the following: Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT), Comp TIA A+, and State of Florida Ready to Work.

College Credit Transfer Opportunity and / or Advanced Credit:
Upon completion of the program and meeting eligibility requirements, students may be awarded up to 22 credits (maximum) toward an A.S.  Degree by Broward College and up to 9 college credits by selected other Florida Community colleges.  Students who take and pass the CCNA certification examination may be awarded up to 12 college credits by selected Florida Community Colleges.  See counselor for additional information.
