Database Application Development & Programming Essentials

The Database Application Development & Programming Essentials prepares students for employment as junior programmers, computer programmer assistants, and computer programming specialists, or to provide supplemental training for persons previously or currently employed in these occupations.
After successfully completing this program, the student will be able to design database models and utilize computer programming languages to create and manipulate databases. The student will also have developed skills in mathematical applications, computer literacy, communications, human relations, job readiness and career development activities, information processing concepts, design programs, code programs, test programs, perform program maintenance, debug programs, and identify functions of computers and information processing.
The Database Application Development & Programming Essentials content also includes: 
- Computer Literacy
- Microsoft Office
- Exposure to a Network Environment
- Computer Programming in 9i PL/SQL, Java, Visual Basic
- Employability Skills and Portfolios
Completion Time:
The length of this program is 1200 hours (approximately 12 months).
Industry Certification & State Credential Exams
Completing students will be eligible to take the following: Oracle Certified Associate and State of Florida Ready to Work.
College Credit Transfer Opportunity and / or Advanced Credit:
Upon completion of the program and meeting eligibility requirements, students may be awarded up to 6 college credits towards an A.S. Degree in Database Technology or selected College Credit Certificate (CCC) courses by selected Florida Community Colleges. See counselor for additional information.
