Advanced Automotive Technology - Toyota TEN

Atlantic Technical Center

Toyota Motor Sales, USA, selected our center to be a part of the national Technician Training and Education Network (TTEN).

This Advanced Automotive Technology  program is an intense training and academic program provided by ATC in partnership withToyota Motor Sales, USA; Southeast Toyota Distributors; Local Toyota, Lexus and Scion dealers and Broward College

The Advanced Automotive Technology program is designed so that upon completion, graduates have the option to earn an Associate of Science Degree in Automotive Service Management Technology. Some automotive background is helpful. Talented students currently or previously enrolled in automotive programs can look forward to participating in this challenging and fulfilling training. The Advanced Automotive Technology Program includes lecture, classroom, and hands-on instruction reinforced with high-tech, computerized learning systems using specialized trainers, simulators, and live vehicles. Course content relates directly to the eight (8) areas of ASE Certification and include:

  • Introduction to Automotive Technology
     
  • Engine Repair
  • Engine Performance
  • Automatic Transmission/Transaxle
  • Electrical Systems/Electronics
  • Heating & Air Conditioning
  • Manual Drive Train & Axles
  • Suspension and Steering
  • Brake Systems
  • Communications, Math and Science skills related to Automotive Technology

Admission Requirements
Advanced Automotive Technology Students must:

  • be High School graduates or equivalent
  • attend a General Orientation
  • take an assessment test
  • meet with the program counselor.

Completion Time
Classes are offered on a full-time basis only.  Students will work as interns in a Toyota or Lexus dealership. The standard length of the program is 2400 hours (2 years).

College Credit Transfer Opportunity and / or Advanced Credit
Upon completion of the Advanced Automotive Technology program and meeting eligibility requirements, students may be able to transfer 56 college credits to Broward College towards an A.S. Degree in Automotive Service Management Technology.
